Mealtime Management

& Swallowing Assessments

Support for safer, more comfortable eating and drinking

Allied Health Service Providers offers Mealtime Management and Swallowing Assessments for children, adults and older Australians experiencing swallowing difficulties, also known as dysphagia.

Our team provides practical assessment, planning, training and recommendations to help make everyday mealtimes safer and better supported.

Supporting safer mealtimes through assessment, planning and training

Swallowing difficulties can affect a person’s safety, comfort, nutrition and confidence during meals.

Our team works with participants, families, carers, Support Coordinators and support teams to understand each person’s individual needs. We provide practical recommendations, clear documentation and training to support safer eating and drinking at home and in the community.

A Mealtime Management Plan may be reviewed yearly, or sooner when there are changes in health, swallowing ability, food or fluid textures, support needs or daily routines.

Our team supports:

People who require modified food or fluid textures

Participants experiencing changes in eating, drinking or swallowing

Participants with complex needs who require detailed recommendations and follow-up support

Families, carers and support teams requiring practical mealtime training

Individuals who need a yearly Mealtime Management Plan review

Children, adults and older Australians experiencing swallowing difficulties

Participants who cough, choke or become distressed while eating or drinking
