Key Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct physical and psychological assessments of patients and develop or follow a treatment plan
Assess home and work environments of patients and decide what adjustments are needed
Advise on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities
Develop physical rehabilitation programs to help patients regain lost skills
Prepare patients for a return to work
Educate caregivers and family members of patients on patient care
Evaluate results and progress of occupational therapy on patients
Maintain professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide patients with the best treatment program available
Evaluate patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health
Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements
